Compensation Overview

The annual base salary range for this position reflects a nationwide market range and encompasses a variety of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary will be influenced by factors such as the role's scope, complexity, and location, as well as the candidate's skills, education, training, credentials, and experience. Employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards as part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program.

Salary Range
$89,000 - $148,000.00

What Is the Opportunity?

As a consultant, you will provide Underwriters with insights into account hazards, controls, and management practices. Your role will involve assessing how companies identify and manage their inherent risk factors, as well as distinguishing accounts from others in similar business categories. You will engage with larger, more complex accounts across all lines of business, reporting to the Risk Control Field Director or Managing Risk Control Consultant. Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Underwriting to select, retain, and develop a profitable portfolio of business.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with Underwriting, Claims, Risk Control Specialists, and Brokers to deliver unified customer service.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments for diverse businesses with moderate to high complexity, including manufacturing and large warehouse operations.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports that clearly communicate risk assessments and recommendations.
  • Analyze customer needs through loss analysis and readiness to provide tailored Risk Control products and services.
  • Identify uncontrolled exposures and guide customers in implementing improvements to mitigate potential losses.
  • Offer solutions for risk mitigation utilizing our extensive resources, while staying informed on technical subjects and regulatory changes.
  • Ensure a positive customer experience through every assessment and service interaction.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental health and safety, engineering, construction management, or related technical fields.
  • Strong knowledge of the insurance industry and business principles.
  • Graduate degree in a relevant field is preferred.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., ASP, CSP, ARM) are recognized.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong technical aptitude.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to establish credibility and rapport quickly.
  • Experience in a collaborative work environment.
  • Strong critical thinking and influencing skills.
  • Proficient in negotiating changes for optimal outcomes.
  • Willingness to give and receive constructive feedback.
Essential Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in safety, risk control, or related fields, particularly in construction, manufacturing, or military sectors.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Ability to obtain necessary certifications to meet state requirements where applicable.
