Job Summary

H2M Architects + Engineers is seeking a highly skilled Asbestos Investigator to join our team. As an Asbestos Investigator, you will be responsible for conducting asbestos surveys, testing, and inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. You will also be responsible for reviewing and understanding site plans, and completing asbestos, mold, lead, and indoor air quality inspection reports for clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform asbestos, mold, and lead surveys on residential and commercial buildings to identify potential hazards and develop remediation plans.
  • Provide project monitoring and air sampling, including compliance with on-site field protocols such as chain of custody forms and daily logs.
  • Prepare and review project-related reports, including asbestos, mold, and lead inspection reports.
  • Manage asbestos and lead abatement projects, including scheduling field staff, client management, and ensuring compliance with state and city agencies.
Requirements
  • Must have an Inspector Certificate issued by NYSDOL and a minimum of 5 years' experience in the environmental consulting field, specifically industrial hygiene.
  • Greater than 1 year of experience in the environmental consulting field, specifically industrial hygiene.
  • Current NYSDOL certifications for the following: Mold Assessor, Lead EPA lead inspector/risk assessor certification.
  • Strong technical skills, including field expertise and knowledge of architectural drawings.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Client relationship skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
