About the Role

We are seeking a Buyer/Planner I to support our Network Solutions manufacturing operations. This position is integral to our commitment to providing smarter, safer, and more reliable products in a dynamic market. The role is situated within the Network Solutions Business Unit of Leviton Manufacturing Company Inc.

Key Responsibilities

The Buyer/Planner I will oversee production scheduling and the timely acquisition of a diverse array of materials and components (both domestic and international) essential for maintaining production efficiency and cost-effectiveness, while consistently upholding quality standards.

  • Manage product inventory throughout its lifecycle
  • Develop a solid understanding of planning and purchasing practices to serve as a resource for teams and the Operations department
  • Collaborate with Production Planning and Manufacturing to devise contingency strategies when inventory commitments are jeopardized
  • Draft requests for quotations, evaluate supplier proposals, negotiate pricing, and confirm purchases within budgetary constraints and authority limits
  • Implement inventory assurance programs to ensure product availability while adhering to defined inventory turnover rates
  • Maintain established fill rates and target inventory levels for assigned part numbers
Qualifications
  • Preferred knowledge of Oracle systems
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and Word is advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) are essential for effective collaboration with various stakeholders
Education & Experience
  • A Bachelor's degree is required
  • Prior experience in supply chain internships is preferred
