Key Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Program Supervisor, you will engage in essential tasks to deliver tailored services to clients within the Genesee Health System. Your role will focus on addressing the unique needs of each individual.
Services may encompass assistance with housing, benefits, skill development, and ongoing peer support, while also fostering collaboration with families, agencies, guardians, and natural support networks.
Facilitate activities alongside clients aimed at promoting community engagement, independence, and productivity.
Qualifications:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with the ability to read and write. Candidates must be current or former recipients of verified mental health services, substance use disorder treatment (with at least one year of documented recovery), or developmental disability services.
Certification as a Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) through the Michigan Department of Community Health is mandatory. Candidates who are eligible for CPSS training/examination will also be considered.
Those without CPSS certification must successfully complete the examination within twelve months of employment to maintain their position. Candidates with a history of substance use disorder treatment must hold current CPSS certification.
Additional Requirements:
Possession of a valid driver's license, current insurance, and access to a vehicle during program hours is essential. Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and irregular hours is required. Candidates must be physically capable of performing job-related tasks.
Preferred Skills:
Proficiency in computer operations and data entry is advantageous.
Veterans are encouraged to submit Form DD214 to verify eligibility for Veterans' Preference.
