Optometrist Position at Hamilton Community Health Network Inc

We are seeking a highly skilled Optometrist to join our team at Hamilton Community Health Network Inc. As an Optometrist, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive eye care services to our patients, including conducting eye exams, diagnosing and treating ocular diseases, and prescribing medications.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough eye exams using optometric equipment and diagnostic interpretation
- Diagnose and treat ocular diseases and defects, including myopia, astigmatism, and glaucoma
- Monitor eye health for patients with certain medical conditions, such as diabetes and thyroid issues
- Prescribe medications and vision aids, including eyeglasses and contact lenses
- Perform pre and post-operative checks and recommend follow-up care options
- Provide patient education and ensure patients receive relevant educational materials
- Refer patients to specialists when necessary and in accordance with insurance restrictions
- Use HCHN-supported laboratory services and pharmacy services to ensure continuum of care
- Complete all paperwork requirements for encounters and medical records compliance
- Valid and active State of Michigan license as a Doctor of Optometry (OD)
- Board Certified in Optometry
- Comprehensive knowledge of eye care delivery and organizational management
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and communicate effectively with patients and staff
- Ability to work in a clinical office setting and may be exposed to communicable diseases
