Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development of new resources and document processes, contacts, and opportunities to serve low to moderate income clients.
  • Lead volunteer management for the agency, including creating a diverse volunteer recruitment plan, training and leading volunteers, and linking volunteers to opportunities based on programming needs.
  • Collaborate with staff to identify client resource needs and propose resources to address those needs.
  • Support existing programs and expand capacity through identification of funders, partnerships, and volunteers.
  • Develop a dynamic repository of community resources to refer clients to and create flowcharts of external processes to help proactively inform staff and clients.
  • Research and be aware of new community resources, programs, and activities for staff to refer clients to and identify gaps and opportunities within current organizational programming.
  • Support the creation of evaluation tools and analysis of data to improve current programming.
Requirements
  • Be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma, GED, or be working towards completion.
  • Be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, or lawful permanent resident of the U.S.
  • Pass the following National Service Criminal History Checks: State of Michigan background check, State of residency (if not Michigan), FBI Fingerprinting, and State & National Sex Offender Registry.
  • Have moderate to proficient computer skills and the ability to learn new software quickly.
Benefits
  • Receive a living allowance of $26,000 distributed in even increments, bi-weekly.
  • Receive student loan forbearance for qualified loans, health care package, childcare assistance upon eligibility, and continual professional development.
  • Upon successful completion of service, receive an education award in the amount of $7,395.
