Role Overview

We are seeking a Tax Resolution Attorney to join our team. The successful candidate will report to the managing attorney and be responsible for providing legal counsel on tax resolutions, including tax collections, audits, US Tax Court, and controversies with state tax and local authorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide legal counsel on tax resolutions and represent clients in tax collections, audits, and US Tax Court
  • Conduct tax research and writing, and develop tax planning strategies
  • Represent clients before the Franchise Tax Board, CDTFA, EDD, and other tax authorities
  • Stay up-to-date with tax regulations and compliance requirements
  • Collaborate with the managing attorney to achieve team goals

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in tax resolution, with a focus on collection matters
  • United States Tax Court experience is strongly preferred
  • Candidates with tax preparation experience will be given preference
  • Strong legal background in Tax Law and knowledge of tax regulations and compliance
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and remotely
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active Bar membership
