About the Department: The Controller's Office is responsible for overseeing the internal control framework of the organization, working in collaboration with various units to develop efficient fiscal processes, and providing guidance on administrative policies and procedures. Their mission is to enhance customer service, minimize costs, and automate transaction processing to ensure financial success.

About the Position: The Global Tax Compliance Manager is essential in ensuring adherence to tax regulations, both domestically and internationally. Reporting to the Associate Controller, this position involves managing tax compliance and planning initiatives while supervising a dedicated team. Key responsibilities include overseeing tax reporting, ensuring compliance with tax regulations for non-residents, preparing tax returns, managing international payments, and collaborating with relevant departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership: Oversee performance management, training, and goal setting for the Global Tax Office staff. Ensure compliance with legal and organizational policies, conduct tax research, and collaborate with stakeholders.
  • Non-Residents: Manage tax compliance for non-residents, including hiring international workers and overseeing related documentation.
  • Tax Returns: Ensure compliance with federal and state tax regulations, manage tax return processes, and provide guidance on tax matters to unit administrators.
  • International Payments: Work with Procurement and Accounts Payable to ensure compliance with payment regulations.
  • Additional Duties: Support the department in achieving its objectives and implementing necessary controls.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
  • Experience applying tax laws to non-immigrant visa holders
  • Knowledge of international tax regulations and UBIT
  • Strong analytical capabilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a relevant field
  • Experience in an academic environment
  • Aptitude for communicating with individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • Professional certifications such as CPA
