Position Summary

The Regional Manager plays a vital role in overseeing and nurturing Branch Managers who lead a team of both full-time and part-time support personnel within a designated geographic area. This role includes the final selection and onboarding of the Branch Manager team, managing their training processes, and ensuring the completion of all reports and performance metrics related to the Clubs' programs and services. The focus is on cultivating relationships, identifying professional development needs, and driving measurable results through exceptional program delivery.

The Regional Manager will be assigned to one of the three priority outcomes for BGCGSD: Academic Success, Character Development, and Healthy Lifestyles, and will be responsible for curriculum design, staff training execution, and evaluation of the assigned priority outcome.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Support for Branch Managers
  • Enhance retention and success of Branch Managers in the assigned region through coaching, mentoring, and individualized development plans.
  • Identify obstacles to success, create action plans for development, and implement performance management strategies.
  • Establish realistic goals to foster professional growth, build rapport, and motivate achievement of programmatic outcomes.
  • Collaborate to determine optimal staffing levels for club operations and program delivery, ensuring compliance in the assigned region.
  • Train in developing strategic partnerships with community leaders to enhance visibility of Clubs' programs and maintain positive public relations.
  • Communicate and enforce organizational policies and procedures, ensuring compliance.
  • Assist in planning and producing training sessions for site staff based on assessed training needs.
  • Participate in strategic planning processes to ensure the success of both long-term and short-term goals.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness, devise evaluation methodologies, and compile data for program assessments.
  • Ensure that the business plans for assigned Branch Managers reflect high standards and effective mentoring.
  • Maintain effective communication of Clubs' objectives to all Branch Managers through organized visits and scheduled communications.
  • Ensure adherence to current safety and wellness protocols.
Supervision and Development of Staff
  • Responsible for recruiting, supervising, coaching, and counseling Branch Managers in the region.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings and training sessions as necessary.
  • Establish accountability processes for Branch Managers to meet expectations consistently.
  • Promote leadership qualities and lead by example through ongoing communication and feedback.
  • Anticipate personnel issues and collaborate with Human Resources to resolve conflicts discreetly.
  • Review and approve timesheets, monitoring attendance and leave reporting.
Administrative Duties
  • Develop and maintain strategic approaches to staff training and development.
  • Lead operations meetings and participate in management meetings as required.
  • Present regional reports at Board Meetings as directed.
  • Oversee site facilities in the assigned region, ensuring a safe and healthy environment.
  • Innovate training programs that enhance staff skills and morale.
  • Stay updated on job knowledge through educational opportunities and professional publications.
Resource Development and Management
  • Implement an annual revenue generation plan with specific targets.
  • Collaborate with the Development team to solicit funds and support local fundraising events.
  • Document all donations accurately as per policy.
  • Work with senior management to create annual contribution goals.
  • Increase revenue from site rentals and member fees.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution (Required).
  • Minimum of five years of relevant experience, preferably with Boys & Girls Clubs (Preferred).
  • Proven skills in program development and assessment; strong leadership and analytical abilities (Required).
  • Demonstrated capacity to coordinate and evaluate staff efforts toward program goals (Required).
  • Management skills to develop long-range plans and coordinate resources effectively (Required).
  • Aptitude for working under pressure with shifting priorities (Required).
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (Required).
  • Strong oral and written communication abilities (Required).
  • Creative problem-solving skills to develop innovative solutions (Required).
  • Supervisory skills to lead and manage staff effectively (Required).
  • Solid analytical skills for identifying areas for improvement (Required).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Required).
  • Experience in conducting training and workshops (Required).
  • Previous experience in a nonprofit or grant-making foundation is a plus (Preferred).

  • Availability for occasional evenings and weekends for events and meetings.
  • CPR & First Aid Certification.
