Electrical Engineer II Job Description

At Milwaukee Tool, we're pushing the boundaries of innovation in electrical engineering. Our team is responsible for designing and developing cutting-edge solutions that power the construction industry. As an Electrical Engineer II, you'll collaborate with global teams to apply a platform-based approach to new designs, gathering and implementing design considerations for use in multiple product categories.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, prototype, test, and troubleshoot embedded electronics, including hardware and firmware, for low to mid-level complexity projects.
  • Conduct experiments, perform simulations, and analyze data to draw concise, logical conclusions.
  • Create test plans for electronic components and assemblies within the scope of project or platform development.
  • Identify tradeoffs and solutions to problems, striving to resolve quickly in a high-urgency environment.
  • Track projects to ensure adherence to schedule and communicate status updates to other teams and mid-level management.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a design-related role.
  • Understanding of embedded systems, PCBA manufacturing, and power electronics.
  • Analog and digital system tradeoffs and design, including signal integrity and noise analysis.
  • Working knowledge of C programming targeted at an implementation on microcontrollers.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar field.
  • Working knowledge of C programming targeted at an implementation on microcontrollers.
  • Knowledge of firmware development tools and processes.
