We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Design Engineer II to lead our cross-functional project teams in the New Product Development, Continuous Improvement, Value Engineering, and Product Support departments within our Accessories business unit.
Key Responsibilities- Technical Leadership: Act as the lead design engineer and technical resource for cross-functional project teams, providing guidance and expertise in mechanical engineering principles, design optimization, and problem-solving.
- Product Development: Establish test regimens for products, submit test requests to internal laboratories, and deliver data analysis to support design recommendations.
- Communication: Provide clear engineering information to project leaders, global engineering teams, and engineering management, and prepare and present large mechanical engineering milestone reviews.
- Project Management: Plan and prioritize technical project tasks, manage and drive cross-functional team members' contributions, and balance workload and priorities on multiple accessory projects.
- Mentorship: Serve as a mentor and provide technical guidance to less experienced engineers, and maintain a positive and focused attitude with regular cross-functional collaboration.
- Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Experience: Typically 2-3 years of experience in a New Product Development or equivalent role.
- Skills: Proficient at 3D modeling and drafting, working knowledge of FEA, ANSYS, and statistical analysis software, Minitab.
- Personal Qualities: Highly motivated self-starter with a never-satisfied, always-improving attitude, and ability to work in an ever-changing and flexible environment.
