Position Overview

The Residential Program Coordinator plays a crucial role in the advancement, administration, and daily oversight of the designated residential facility.

This position involves managing direct support personnel within the residential setting and acting as a key point of contact with other programs and associated departments.

Key Responsibilities:
In alignment with Unified Community Connections' Mission Statement, the Residential Program Coordinator will:

  • Ensure that all individuals served are aware of their rights and responsibilities, and are safeguarded from abuse and neglect.
  • Possess knowledge of and adhere to all Agency, state, and federal policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Oversee and manage the budget effectively.
  • Ensure each assigned residence is stocked with necessary groceries and supplies.
  • Maintain schedules in coordination with the Administrative Resource Director.
  • Monitor medication expiration dates within the Assisted Living Unit.
  • Complete monthly documentation for each assigned household.
  • Collaborate with the Residential Director to maintain schedules for each Assisted Living Unit.
  • Ensure that the monthly activity calendar aligns with Person-Centered Planning goals and is communicated effectively to the household.
  • Keep records for the Assisted Living Units up to date.
  • Ensure the upkeep of the Assisted Living Units, both inside and out, and confirm that all equipment is functioning properly.
  • Report maintenance issues promptly.
  • Assist with personal care for individuals as needed.
  • Provide transportation for individuals when necessary.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation.
  • Assist with vehicle maintenance for the assigned Assisted Living Unit as required.

Report any Quality Assurance concerns to the Residential Director immediately, including health and safety issues.

All other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Duties:
Oversee Residential Program staff and other assigned personnel.

Qualifications:

Preferred qualifications include an Associate's Degree in Human Services. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.

Two to five years of experience in a Residential or Personal Support Services environment, along with two to five years in a supervisory capacity, is preferred.

Skills Required:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Capability to read and understand simple instructions and written correspondence.
  • Ability to compose reports and complete necessary forms.
  • Effective communication skills with individuals in Unified programs, family members, medical professionals, colleagues, and vendors, both verbally and in writing.
Licensure and Certification:

Certification of Clinical Competency in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech Language and Hearing Association and a State of Maryland License in Speech-Language Pathology are required.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee may be required to write, type, stand, walk, sit, bend, kneel, climb, crawl, and use hands for various tasks. The employee may need to lift or transfer individuals weighing over 50 lbs. Assistance with participants' needs, including feeding, dressing, toileting, and hygiene, may be necessary.

Proper body mechanics and safe work practices must be utilized when assisting with transfers of individuals with varying weights and physical needs.

Vision capabilities required for this position include near and far distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
