Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Residential Care
Full-Time Evening Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM, with every other weekend required
As a vital member of our team at Brook Lane Inc, you will:
- Support the creation and maintenance of a secure and therapeutic atmosphere that honors the rights of residents.
- Administer prescribed medications and accurately transcribe medical orders.
- Engage with residents in a high-acuity residential respite environment.
- Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge processes for residents.
- Deliver nursing care in accordance with the resident's individualized treatment plan, under the guidance of a registered nurse.
- Assist residents with daily living activities, promoting independence whenever feasible.
- Provide educational support on health-related topics as directed.
- Employ safe and appropriate de-escalation and restraint techniques when necessary.
- Coordinate appointments with healthcare providers.
- Accompany residents to their medical appointments.
- Perform administrative tasks, including assisting with staff scheduling.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from a state-accredited nursing program.
- Current licensure as a practical nurse in the state of Maryland.
- A minimum of one year of experience in medical-surgical nursing, with an additional year in psychiatric nursing preferred.
- Capability to manage multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
- Familiarity with child and adolescent psychiatric care is advantageous.
- Willingness to complete a crisis intervention program that includes physical restraint training.
Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Evening, overnight, and weekend shifts offer an additional shift differential.
