Job Summary

The ARCC Associate - Sports and Recreation Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the College's physical education programs, intercollegiate athletic programs, county recreation programs, and selected community events. This role requires a high level of organization, communication, and problem-solving skills to ensure the smooth execution of events and programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilities Management: Supervise and maintain the athletic facilities, playing fields, and equipment, including setup and monitoring for events and programs.
  • Equipment Supervision: Oversee the equipment area and dispensing of physical education, recreation, and intercollegiate athletic equipment.
  • Laundry and Locker Rooms: Perform laundry duties for intercollegiate athletic activities and special events, and supervise varsity and general locker rooms.
  • Event Coordination: Coordinate large-scale special events and activities, including setup and teardown, on-site coordination, and decision-making in accordance with ARCC policy and procedure.
  • Student Worker Supervision: Share responsibility for assigned student workers, evaluate student workers for retention purposes, and make decisions in accordance with established operating procedures.
Requirements
  • Education: Associate degree preferred and 2-3 years related experience, some of which should have been in sports or recreation.
  • Skills and Abilities: Ability to plan, direct, and assign the work of others, ability to move athletic equipment and materials, ability to make decisions in accordance with established operating procedures, ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with HCC faculty, coaches, students, county recreation staff, and the general public.
  • Certifications: C.P.R. certification and valid motor vehicle operator's license.
