Position Summary

Tactical Air Support is in search of a Lead Systems Engineer who plays a crucial role in ensuring the production and operational readiness of CAS aircraft. This position is essential for the company's ongoing success and performance. The Lead Systems Engineer will oversee the engineering design, development, testing, and analysis of aircraft and structures, specifically focusing on U.S. Navy F-5N+/F+ series aircraft. Collaboration with aircraft maintenance teams, pilots, engineering colleagues, and program management is vital to support mission systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage configuration for aircraft components and systems, ensuring compliance with engineering drawings and documentation.
  • Implement hardware and software configuration management processes, creating product build scripts and integrating them into the build process.
  • Utilize development configuration management tools effectively.
  • Maintain version control of releases and provide updates on build plans and processes.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills to convey technical information clearly to colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Design electronic drawings and block diagrams with precision.
  • Understand commercial and military contracts, capable of performing requirements breakdown and validation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with a minimum of five years' experience in the aerospace, defense, or federal contracting sectors.
  • Ability to approach challenges with a forensic mindset.
  • Proficient in electronic drawing design and block diagram layout.
  • Strong computer skills, familiar with various software applications for documentation, data management, and project management.
  • Capable of handling classified materials and maintaining compliance with recordkeeping practices.
  • Must possess a valid state driver's license.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required, with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.

Preferred Experience/Skills

  • Possession of a current U.S. Government Secret clearance is advantageous.
  • A Master's Degree is preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Regular use of hands and fingers for operation of controls and equipment.
  • Ability to ascend and descend stairs and ladders as needed.

Work Environment

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States and complete a U.S. government I-9 Form.
  • Tactical Air Support maintains a Drug & Alcohol-Free Workplace, requiring pre-employment and random testing.
  • Physical certifications are required prior to employment.
  • Exposure to aircraft hangar or warehouse environments may occur, including loud noises and hazardous materials.
  • Work hours may vary based on operational requirements, including potential evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
  • Travel to various work sites may be necessary.
