Position Overview:

Naval Systems is seeking a skilled Aerospace Systems Engineer to join our team, focusing on the support of advanced aerospace platforms. This role involves working with the Fleet Readiness Center Southeast (FRCSE) Adversary Fleet Support Team, particularly with the F-5N aircraft and its associated engines (J-85).

The Aerospace Systems Engineer will be tasked with formulating comprehensive solutions for technical, operational, and maintenance challenges. Responsibilities include assisting maintenance teams in diagnosing and repairing aircraft control systems, hydraulic systems, fuel systems, and pressurization systems. This position may also involve troubleshooting and repairing aircraft engines.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing and updating technical maintenance manuals to ensure accuracy, including submitting necessary revisions to address any discrepancies.
  • Presenting findings and recommendations to management and team members.
  • Ensuring all repairs adhere to established naval aviation maintenance standards.
  • Conducting engineering investigations on failed aircraft components and systems, providing solutions for obsolete components.
  • Performing failure mode effects and criticality analysis to assess the importance of aircraft system components.
  • Reviewing technical drawings and blueprints, estimating materials and time required for repairs.
  • Applying engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, develop, implement, test, and evaluate projects within the mechanical engineering field.

This role requires limited supervision and direction from a Senior Aerospace Engineer, and may involve occasional travel. The position offers a hybrid work environment, combining remote and on-site responsibilities.


Qualifications:

Location: Jacksonville, FL
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering is mandatory.
Experience: A minimum of 3 to 10 years of relevant experience in aerospace support is required.
Security Clearance: A Secret Clearance is essential.
Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen.
