Covenant Health is seeking a Patient Service Representative II to join our team at LeConte Cardiology Associates. In this role, you will provide administrative support for patient service functions, including collecting and processing encounter form data, collecting and totaling outstanding balances and payments, and balancing work and computer at the end of the day.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, and safety standards.
  • Answer telephone calls and route accordingly.
  • Receive and record changes in patient information.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with insurance procedures and knowledge of participating plans.
  • Ensure procedures and corresponding diagnosis are properly recorded on the fee slip for charge entry.
  • Schedule appointments for return visits and end-of-day procedures and balancing.
  • Compile data for billing personnel.
  • Develop A-I-D-E-T fundamentals of communication.
  • Attend meetings as required and participate on committees as directed.
  • Collaborate with patients, physicians, and other care team members as part of a team-based approach to overall patient care.
  • Follow policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Requirements
  • Minimum education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum experience: One year of experience in a medical office setting with working knowledge of clinic appointment scheduling, collection, and ICD-9/10 and CPT-4 coding (charge entry) required.
  • Licensure requirement: None.
