Position Overview

The Construction Project Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting the Engineer Procure Construct (EPC) Project Manager or Program Manager, ensuring the smooth execution of daily operations from the pre-construction phase through to project completion and warranty periods. This role encompasses a broad range of responsibilities including safety management, quality assurance, scheduling, cost control, and client relations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to company safety protocols and promote a culture of safety among project team members and subcontractors.
  • Oversee daily construction activities and manage the successful execution of one or multiple projects concurrently.
  • Provide leadership in project planning, scheduling, estimating, and establishing critical objectives.
  • Foster and maintain strong client relationships while managing project-related communications.
  • Engage in internal and external project risk assessments and collaborate with the Legal Department as necessary.
  • Negotiate contracts, including prime contracts, CM contracts, subcontracts, and change orders.
  • Implement and manage the Project Execution Plan, ensuring compliance with construction quality assurance and safety standards.
  • Develop staffing plans and train project teams, ensuring efficient utilization of resources.
  • Oversee the preparation of project plans for site layout, mobilization, and demobilization.
  • Ensure all necessary project permits are obtained in accordance with requirements.
  • Direct the RFP and bid process, preparing detailed scope documents for subcontractor and client contracts.
  • Review and communicate project reports, including budgeting and cash flow forecasts, to relevant stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure timely delivery of engineering deliverables.
  • Manage contract administration processes, including RFIs, submittals, and change management.
  • Oversee invoicing processes for prime contracts and subcontractors.
  • Coordinate client, supplier, and company commissioning and startup teams as required.
  • Implement and audit project documentation to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Conduct project audits and assessments focusing on safety, quality, and financial performance.
  • Facilitate project cost reporting, scheduling, and tracking of construction-related activities.
  • Manage materials receiving and inventory control processes.
  • Review contract compliance with field staff to ensure adherence to safety, quality, and schedule requirements.
  • Support communication with governmental and public entities regarding project matters.
  • Provide mentorship and training to junior staff and interns.
  • Manage relationships with community and building trades.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures throughout all project phases.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, along with 7 years of relevant project management experience in the construction sector.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with project management software.
  • Strong communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in construction project sites or program management in various industries is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles is required.
