Patient Service Representative

Job Summary:
The Patient Service Representative - VA Referrals is responsible for ensuring seamless communication between patients, providers, and insurance carriers. This role requires strong organizational and communication skills to verify insurance coverage, secure referrals, and resolve billing issues in a timely and professional manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify insurance coverage and benefits prior to treatment
- Secure referrals and prior-approvals
- Resolve billing issues and denials
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and staff
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
- Collaborate with providers and staff to ensure efficient and effective care
Requirements:
- High School graduate or GED required
- Minimum two to three (2-3) years experience in medical billing and insurance preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of Medicare, medical assistance, and other third-party payors
Working Environment:
This role requires working in an office environment with frequent contact with staff and the public. The ability to sit for long periods and use a computer is required.
