**To be a relief driver, you must first be a substitute driver.

Position Overview:

This role involves the operation of school buses under various weather conditions, ensuring the safe transportation of students and authorized individuals to and from educational institutions, as well as during extracurricular activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Bus Operation:
    Drive a school bus or designated vehicle along scheduled routes and for approved trips. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, maintain cleanliness, and ensure the bus is in good working order. Keep up-to-date with route information and accurately complete required documentation.
  2. Safety and Compliance:
    Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations related to pupil transportation. Respond effectively to emergencies and maintain a safe environment for students.
  3. Professional Conduct:
    Exhibit a positive demeanor and model appropriate behavior. Foster a welcoming atmosphere for students and parents, while being responsive to their needs.
  4. Community Engagement:
    Demonstrate a commitment to working with diverse populations and enhancing community relations.

Qualifications:
  1. Experience working with culturally diverse communities.
  2. High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  3. Minimum age of 21 years.
  4. At least five years of professional driving experience.
  5. Knowledge of transportation laws and regulations.
  6. Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  7. Possession of a valid driver's license and safe driving record.

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

This position requires the ability to operate a bus, which involves prolonged sitting and exposure to various weather conditions. Candidates must be able to lift and move students in emergency situations and remain focused amidst distractions.
