The Room Quality Assurance Specialist ensures that all guest rooms and public areas are cleaned to the highest standard. This role directly oversees and supervises the work of housekeeping room attendants.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Approach all interactions with guests and employees in a friendly and service-oriented manner by maintaining a positive demeanor.
- Promote a positive and caring work environment by addressing and resolving any conflict in a calm and poised manner.
- Have an eye for detail and the ability to effectively deal with guests, other departments, and housekeeping staff.
- Obtain a list of vacant rooms to be cleaned immediately and a list of prospective checkouts or discharges to prepare work assignments.
- Be aware of the day's business, including room occupancy, special requirements, and VIP needs.
- Liaise with Reception regarding room moves, VIP guests, special needs, and act on any information given.
- Have excellent knowledge on how to inspect properties.
- Conduct daily inspections of all guest rooms, public areas, and recreational areas for cleanliness, appearance, and to ensure these areas are kept to the hotel's standards.
- Ensure that company standards for guest services, décor, and housekeeping services are met or exceeded.
- Conduct meetings and training sessions as required.
- Train all staff to the standards laid down in the training manual and monitor their work performance.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of housekeeping experience in the hospitality industry preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English to communicate with guests and team members.
- Have a strong attention to details.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a high degree of autonomy.
