Cost Management Accountant

- Update monthly unitized forecasts through collaboration with Program Management and Operations teams.
- Support Operations in the Forecast & Capacity Planning process.
- Examine work order entry transactions for accuracy, coordinating batch work order analysis to identify inconsistencies and recommend corrective actions.
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly analysis of manufacturing variances.
- Regularly review material, labor, and overhead data, coordinating necessary updates.
- Inspect standard and actual costs for discrepancies, updating items and bills of materials as needed.
- Prepare journal entries, perform account reconciliations, and manage month-end closing processes, including Work in Progress (WIP).
- Collaborate with the Material Review Board to identify and manage obsolete inventory.
- Facilitate annual physical inventory counts and routine cycle counts, investigating variances and assisting in resolutions.
- Act as a backup for payroll processing, including bi-weekly paychecks, direct deposits, and 401(k) transmittals.
- Serve as backup for Accounts Payable, ensuring accurate verification and coding of invoices for payment.
- Assist in monthly spending reviews and prepare monthly cost reports comparing actuals to budget.
- Maintain organized records of financial documents with supporting materials.
- Propose, design, and implement departmental processes and protocols.
- Conduct financial analyses as required.
- Support the Plant Controller with special projects.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, FDA, OSHA, and other regulatory standards relevant to the position and company policies.
- Adhere to company safety protocols.
- Exhibit regular attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a combination of relevant experience and education.
- 3-5 years of experience in accounting.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.
- Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Skilled in prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail is essential.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., MAS 90/SAGE) is preferred.
- Experience in a FDA-regulated manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of GMP regulations is advantageous.
