Summary

The Staff Accountant provides essential support to the Senior Staff Accountant in managing the day-to-day financial operations and record-keeping for Habitat for Humanity-Spokane.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Account Reconciliations:
    • Oversees account reconciliations on a daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
    • Researches transaction history to resolve any unreconciled items.
  • Accounts Receivable (A/R):
    • Processes statements for A/R to send to homeowners making direct payments to Habitat-Spokane for various expenses.
    • Manages HOA accounts, reconciles accounts, and collaborates with the Homeowner Services Department.
    • Collects accounts through various communication channels.
    • Processes reports from mortgage companies and records payments.
    • Reconciles AR ledger and resolves outstanding balances.
  • Payroll Processing:
    • Processes bi-monthly payroll through a third-party vendor.
    • Checks account balances post payroll processing and resolves errors.
    • Creates payroll reports for benefit reconciliation.
  • General Accounting Duties:
    • Enters journal and ledger entries in QuickBooks and Excel.
    • Assists in best practices for Accounts Payable & Receivable and reconciles General Ledger accounts.
    • Produces various reports as needed.
    • Manages budget data entry and oversees inventory.
Education and Experience

Requires a Bachelor's degree in accounting and two years of related experience.
