Job Overview

Manitou is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician to oversee maintenance requests, preventative upkeep, and projects across various areas, equipment, and processes.

This role will deliver support and technical knowledge for maintenance repairs, initiatives, and predictive maintenance. The technician will engage in daily projects related to maintenance and provide assistance across all departments within the facility. The Maintenance Technician will report to the Maintenance Supervisor, guided by the Maintenance Lead and Management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Demonstrate meticulous attention to detail and a task-oriented approach to complete assignments that affect the facilities, equipment, departments, and environment.
  • Engage in various maintenance disciplines, including general, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, facility, and grounds maintenance, along with troubleshooting and problem resolution.
  • Offer support and technical expertise to maintenance and all impacted departments to enhance facilities, manufacturing processes, tools, equipment, and products, including involvement in special projects. Responsibilities encompass supervision of related equipment, parts management, maintenance project oversight, area enhancements, coordination of maintenance orders, scheduling repairs, and compliance with regulations.
  • Responsible for supporting projects from inception to completion and collaborating with other support staff as necessary.
  • Ensure a clean and safe working environment for employees and customers.
  • Exhibit self-motivation and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Capable of managing projects of varying sizes as required.
  • Proficient in operating equipment necessary for maintenance tasks.
  • Knowledgeable in safely handling chemicals utilized in maintenance.
  • Responsible for inventory management and seeking continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Willingness to adapt duties and work hours as needed to meet project timelines.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven experience in mechanical, electrical, maintenance repair, project management, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Candidates should possess one to five years of experience in relevant fields.

SKILLS:

  • Ability to perform and lead essential maintenance activities across various departments.
  • Efficiency in sustaining equipment uptime and condition.
  • Capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong judgment and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to interface with various mechanical, electrical, and other contractors.
  • Utilize knowledge of industrial equipment, processes, manufacturing practices, and problem-solving skills to address issues, enhance processes, and implement solutions for the improvement of the department and equipment.
  • Knowledge, skills, and abilities will contribute to enhancing Manitou Equipment America.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:

  • A degree or relevant experience in Industrial Maintenance Technology, Industrial Technology, PLC controls, or related fields is preferred.
