We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Grounds Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Park Lawn Memorial Group, LLC. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for maintaining the appearance and upkeep of our cemetery, mausoleum, and funeral home locations.
Key Responsibilities- Grounds Maintenance: Perform tasks of grounds maintenance requiring the knowledge of use and general maintenance of mechanized equipment, including lawn equipment, hand-held tools, and equipment.
- Interment and Entombment Support: Assist with the setup and completion of interments and entombments, including excavating graves to the proper level, lifting and placing caskets on lowering devices, and removing, replacing, and lifting crypt and niche fronts.
- Cemetery Navigation: Correctly identify and locate the location of specified interment/entombment spaces within the cemetery on cemetery maps.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-year grounds experience, with cemetery grounds experience strongly preferred.
- Licenses and Certifications: Valid state-issued driver's license in good standing and acceptable driving record.
- Communication Proficiency: Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Teamwork Orientation: Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Detail Orientation: Attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of quality in work.
- Customer Service Orientation: Ability to provide excellent customer service to families and visitors.
- Time Management: Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Outdoor Work: Duties associated with this position are generally performed in an outdoor setting.
- Physical Demands: Regularly required to climb, sit, stand, bend, kneel, and frequently lift up to 75 pounds and may be required to lift up to 100 pounds.
- Equipment Use: Employees in this role are regularly required to use hand-held tools and equipment, including but not limited to shovels, picks, rakes, sledgehammers, lawn mowers, weed trimmers, and sod cutters.
- Travel: This position may require up to 10 percent out-of-area and overnight travel.
