The Aerospace Maintenance Specialist plays a crucial role in the upkeep, diagnosis, repair, and evaluation of aircraft to guarantee their operational safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Aircraft Upkeep and Repair
Typical Duties
- Conducts inspections and certifies aircraft at designated intervals as mandated by OEM and FAA regulations.
- Identifies system failures and executes necessary repairs.
- Adheres to Service Bulletins, Instructions, and Airworthiness Directives as required.
- Provides oversight and evaluates maintenance tasks performed by both FAA-certified and non-certified personnel.
Required Qualifications
Education: Completion of a standard high school education or equivalent AND a minimum of two years of experience in aircraft maintenance-related roles.
Certifications: A & P License and a valid State driver's license are mandatory.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Proficient in aircraft sheet metal repair, skilled in using instrument, electronic, and electrical testing equipment, and familiar with federal contractor regulations and FAA maintenance protocols.
Physical Requirements
The individual must occasionally lift and/or transport items weighing up to 50 pounds. Specific vision capabilities required for this position include close vision, color vision, and peripheral vision.
Work Environment
The individual is frequently exposed to moving mechanical components, fumes, or airborne particles. The noise level in the workplace is generally moderate.
