Position Summary:

This role requires a highly skilled individual with extensive experience in the operation and maintenance of various types of equipment within their designated areas. A thorough understanding of all pertinent regulations and guidelines is essential. The primary focus is to oversee the team, ensuring the safe and dependable operation of lifts, with a strong emphasis on efficiency, workplace safety, and leadership in all aspects of lift maintenance. It is crucial to keep the lift department Director promptly informed of any unusual occurrences or conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the safe and efficient daily maintenance operations of lifts, including construction as necessary for chairlift equipment valued between $5-10 million.
  • Ensure the maintenance operations are conducted safely and reliably, providing the quality service expected by guests and Vail Resorts.
  • Guarantee compliance with CPTSB and Vail Resorts regulations.
  • Assist the Director in monitoring operating and capital expenses, ensuring proper expenditure allocation.
  • Manage conduct, training, and adherence to Lift Department Policies and Vail Resorts policies, ensuring timely completion of paperwork and procedures.
  • Lead the hiring, training, and development of all electrical maintenance personnel for lifts.
  • Oversee summer and winter preventive electrical maintenance programs, including inspections to enhance lift safety and reliability.
  • Plan and coordinate the activities of the electrical maintenance team to ensure work is completed efficiently and on schedule.
  • Direct and manage the maintenance of all tools, equipment, and vehicles.
  • Ensure the Director is immediately informed of any abnormal conditions, incidents, or system failures.
  • Maintain and update all records required by Vail Resorts and relevant authorities, including operational procedures, daily maintenance logs, and incident reports.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent; some college education preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of proven management experience in lift maintenance and operations or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and PLC programming preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of lift maintenance, operations, and management practices.
  • Familiarity with regulations governing maintenance and ski operations.
  • Intermediate skiing or riding skills are advantageous.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $74,000 - $118,830, plus an annual bonus. Compensation decisions are influenced by various factors.
