Position Summary:

Oversee all facets of property maintenance with a strong focus on asset preservation. Guide the engineering team to ensure compliance with brand standards, customer service protocols, safety regulations, and job responsibilities. Implement a work order management system to assess productivity and efficiency within the engineering division while adhering to all relevant industry codes and regulations.

Position Specifications:

  • Property: The Arrabelle, Vail
  • Salary Range: Starting at $89,000 - $108,000 plus annual performance bonus. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience.
  • Work Schedule: Full-Time, Year-Round.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily departmental operations, organizing and managing tasks while communicating objectives and scheduling staff to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Educate team members on emergency protocols and safety standards to ensure adherence to legal regulations.
  • Train staff on brand standards and set performance goals to achieve favorable audit results.
  • Enhance guest satisfaction by training associates on service quality and performance metrics.
  • Conduct daily briefings to relay information, address guest concerns, and celebrate team achievements.
  • Resolve guest issues in alignment with brand standards to maintain a positive guest experience.
  • Facilitate monthly departmental meetings to share updates, corporate news, and improvement strategies.
  • Supervise property operations, including maintenance and repairs of all facilities and grounds.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive maintenance strategy for all buildings and equipment, ensuring staff is trained on these protocols.
  • Monitor cleanliness and organization of all work areas.
  • Ensure the execution of preventative and scheduled maintenance programs to meet corporate and property standards.
  • Manage departmental budget and expenses, reporting variances as necessary.
  • Assist in preparing the annual departmental budget and capital improvement plans.
  • Collaborate with corporate managers and external partners on renovation projects.
  • Oversee capital project contracts, ensuring compliance with scope and budget.
  • Procure all necessary supplies and equipment in accordance with purchasing policies.
  • Inspect deliveries to ensure quality and compliance with specifications.
  • Maintain an inventory of parts and supplies.
  • Evaluate departmental productivity using automated systems or manual tracking methods.
  • Possess strong technical knowledge in various maintenance disciplines including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Implement safety guidelines and regulations in accordance with corporate policies.
  • Assess the need for in-house repairs versus outsourcing to contractors.
  • Conduct training programs for new hires on essential job functions.
  • Manage security protocols to ensure the safety of property, staff, and guests.
  • Identify and mentor potential successors within the team.
  • Perform additional duties related to property engineering as required.

Qualifications:

  • 3-4 years of technical education or formal training.
  • 4-7 years of experience in a leadership role within a large resort or similar environment.
  • 3-4 years of supervisory experience required.
  • Valid driver's license; relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Fluent in English, with strong communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and administrative capabilities.
  • Flexible to adapt to changing work schedules as needed.

The anticipated salary range is $89,000 - $108,000 plus annual bonus. Compensation decisions will be based on various factors.
