Job Summary

The Department of Corrections Executive Leadership is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervising Officer 2 to join our team. This is a critical role that requires strong leadership and management skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership and guidance to correctional facility staff, ensuring the effective implementation of policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain a culture of safety and security within the facility, ensuring the well-being of staff and inmates.
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to achieve organizational goals and objectives.
  • Conduct investigations and coordinate with external agencies as needed.
  • Establish and maintain professional working relationships with stakeholders, including staff, inmates, and community partners.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a supervisory or lead worker role, preferably in a correctional or secure residential treatment facility.
  • Proven track record of success in responding to and assuming command in emergency situations.
  • Experience conducting investigations and coordinating with external agencies.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience providing formal training, coaching, or mentorship to others.
  • Experience participating in multi-disciplinary teams and/or serving on committees or work groups.
  • Experience assuming on-site responsibilities after normal business hours, weekends, and holidays.
