About the Role

The Department of Corrections Executive Leadership is seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Specialist to join our team. As a Facilities Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of our facilities, including preventive maintenance and minor repairs of equipment and building components.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs of facilities, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems
  • Conduct inspections to identify potential issues and develop plans for maintenance and repairs
  • Supervise and train inmates in mechanical maintenance and repair work assignments
  • Operate grounds maintenance equipment, including lawn mowers and snow plows
  • Assist with emergency call-ins and respond to facility needs

Requirements

  • Knowledge of building construction and repair concepts and techniques
  • Knowledge of mechanical repair and maintenance principles
  • Knowledge of janitorial and cleaning techniques
  • Knowledge of grounds keeping and landscaping methods and procedures
