Job Summary

The Department of Corrections Executive Leadership is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Social Worker to join our team. As a Social Worker, you will play a critical role in providing support and guidance to individuals in our care, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments of clients' needs and develop personalized service plans to address their challenges.
  • Provide counseling and guidance to clients, helping them to develop coping strategies and improve their overall well-being.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, including healthcare providers and social services staff, to ensure comprehensive support for clients.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community resources and organizations to provide clients with access to additional support and services.
  • Monitor client progress and adjust service plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must possess a Social Worker credential issued by the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services, as well as an active Substance Abuse Counselor credential. You must also have a non-Training Certificate Social Work Credential and 12 or more months of social work experience with correctional clients or 2 or more years of total social work experience.

Work Environment

This position will be based in a correctional facility, with occasional remote work available. The anticipated schedule will be day-time hours, Monday through Friday. Specifics can be discussed at the time of interview.
