Piping and Mechanical Cost Estimator

Contractor Service & Fabrication, Inc. (CSFCO) is in search of a skilled Piping and Mechanical Cost Estimator. In this role, you will be tasked with producing precise cost assessments for significant construction projects and will play a crucial role in the planning, development, negotiation, and execution of contracts.

The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional communication abilities and a keen eye for detail. A proven history of effective negotiations with various professionals, along with the capacity to generate accurate time and cost forecasts, is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Calculate the comprehensive costs of materials, equipment, utilities, labor, and indirect expenses for industrial construction projects.
  • Examine construction documents and interpret specifications.
  • Develop estimates to facilitate planning, organization, and scheduling of project tasks.
  • Prepare cost estimates that align with project objectives, sequence activities, procure materials, and negotiate favorable terms with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Ensure timely submission of relevant documents and budgets prior to bid deadlines.
  • Provide regular updates to management and clients regarding project progress.
  • Identify potential risks, devise contingency strategies, and effectively manage risks that could affect cost and scheduling.
  • Stay informed about the latest estimating technologies and industry methodologies.
  • Collaborate with various teams, conduct site assessments, and offer additional services such as bid submissions when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of seven (7) years of experience as an estimator in the industrial construction sector is preferred.
  • Outstanding time management, multitasking, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong management and negotiation capabilities.
  • Ability to work closely with other project teams and stakeholders.
  • Excellent research, proposal writing, and presentation skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry best practices and standards.
  • Advanced computer proficiency and demonstrated expertise with ProEst estimating software.
  • Willingness to travel and conduct site visits as required.
