Job Overview

Elwood Staffing is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Risk Operations Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in helping us protect and enhance our assets by performing a variety of risk management functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review background check requests against client hiring criteria and notify staff of outcome in accordance with established procedures.
  • Support our offices in requests and questions related to background checks and drug screen inquiries.
  • Assist in managing drug test results for the field.
  • Provide training on different Risk Operations functions.
  • Complete and fulfill DOT verification requests in a timely manner.
Departmental Support
  • Handle incoming phone calls to the main Risk Operations line, answering routine questions and referring calls as needed.
  • Update various Risk Operations reports and excel spreadsheets as assigned.
  • Create and send Pre-adverse and adverse action letters as needed for some background check vendors.
  • Provide clerical support and other administrative assistance to department staff.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor in a timely and accurate manner.
Requirements
  • Previous experience and/or education in staffing, customer service, business administration, human resources, and/or human services.
  • Fast and accurate data entry skills.
  • Intermediate level of expertise in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Ability to learn new software quickly.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
