Position Overview

Cleveland-Cliffs Tubular Components is seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance Specialist to enhance our quality management processes. This role is pivotal in ensuring the integrity of our products by identifying and addressing quality issues within our operations. The Quality Assurance Specialist will play a crucial role in fostering customer satisfaction through effective resolution of product-related concerns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize various analytical and statistical methodologies to spearhead corrective actions.
  • Design, implement, and oversee a robust quality assurance framework that aligns with customer and product requirements.
  • Collaborate with clients and suppliers to troubleshoot and resolve quality-related challenges.
  • Mentor and develop team members to uphold quality assurance standards.
  • Address both internal and external quality issues effectively.
  • Compile and communicate summaries and trends of customer complaints to relevant stakeholders.
  • Enhance quality assurance protocols and documentation.
  • Conduct training sessions on quality assurance practices and procedures.
  • Monitor quality-related costs, aiming to minimize waste and enhance value-added activities.
  • Utilize measuring instruments effectively.
  • Conduct audits of the quality assurance system.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent professional experience.
  • Trained as a QS/ISO 9000 auditor.
  • Familiarity with SPC, DOE, TOPS, APQP, PPAP, and QFD methodologies.
  • Proficient in layout and GD&T.

Desirable:

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proven analytical problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to navigate complex situations diplomatically.
  • Competence in PC software, including word processing and spreadsheet applications.
