We are currently seeking a proactive Materials Manager to oversee and coordinate our procurement team, ensuring that material acquisition aligns seamlessly with production schedules and customer delivery expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

Main Job Accountability:

  • Identify and evaluate suppliers, ensuring robust relationships are established and maintained.
  • Oversee supplier performance, focusing on timely deliveries and adherence to quality standards.
  • Advise on significant material purchases, taking into account market trends and delivery conditions.
  • Investigate daily purchase price variances (PPV), identifying root causes and implementing corrective measures.
  • Maintain accurate supplier information within the ERP system and address any supplier-related challenges promptly.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to resolve issues related to quality, delivery, and quantity.
  • Ensure compliance with quality assurance protocols (ISO) within purchasing and planning operations.
  • Lead initiatives aimed at continuous improvement within the procurement process.
  • Monitor inventory levels to optimize investment in alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Assess inventory for potential obsolescence and recommend necessary actions.

Additional Job Accountabilities:

  • Conduct visits to supplier facilities to enhance operational understanding.
  • Authorize purchase agreements and transactions exceeding specified thresholds.
  • Support the introduction and execution of new products and processes.
  • Establish planning timelines in accordance with inventory management policies.

What We're Looking For:

To excel in this position, candidates should possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience in procurement or production management.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing or production management roles.
  • Software Proficiency: Familiarity with PC applications and ERP systems.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, characterized by transparency and authenticity.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to persuade and influence.
  • Team-oriented leadership capabilities with a proactive mindset focused on achieving results.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently while promoting teamwork.
  • Robust problem-solving skills, with experience in managing conflicts within centralized and matrix organizational frameworks.
  • Ability to analyze complex issues, perform root cause analysis, and provide well-founded recommendations.
