Clinical Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Clinical Support Specialist to join our team at MedStar National Rehabilitation Hospital. The ideal candidate will possess strong cultural competence and empathy when interacting with diverse patient populations.

The Clinical Support Specialist provides essential patient care services under the direct supervision of a licensed therapist. They work closely with patients across various demographics, promoting participation in therapy programs by organizing engaging activities. Our team member ensures that common areas and equipment are properly sanitized according to infection control protocols before and after each use.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality patient care for assigned units/departments, supervised by licensed therapists.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in utilizing equipment such as beds, wheelchairs, and cleaning agents.
  • Perform non-patient care duties like coordinating programs and maintaining communal spaces.
  • Effectively communicate with patients, families, and the rehabilitation team.
  • Accurately maintain records and update daily schedules.
  • Prepare materials and equipment for individual and group activities.

Qualifications:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • An American Heart Association Heart Saver Card is necessary.
  • Prior experience in patient care is preferred.

This position comes with a salary range of $17.50 - $28.73 per hour.
