We are seeking a dedicated Postdoctoral Researcher to engage in pioneering research within the field of organ preservation for transplantation. This role is situated in the esteemed University of Minnesota, specifically within the Division of Solid Organ Transplantation and the Bioheat and Mass Transfer Laboratory.
Research Focus
The primary aim of this research is to overcome significant challenges in the field of transplantation and regenerative medicine. Our objective is to develop innovative methodologies for the cryopreservation of biological materials, enhancing their viability for future use. The collaborative efforts of our laboratories have already yielded promising results, including successful cryopreservation of kidneys and pancreatic islets.
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will take on crucial responsibilities, including but not limited to:
1. Conducting microsurgical procedures and ex vivo organ perfusion.
2. Performing biological assessments and maintaining meticulous documentation of protocols.
3. Analyzing data and preparing summaries for research publications.
4. Contributing to multiple research projects and leading proposals.
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:
- An MD, PhD, or MD/PhD with relevant surgical experience.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
