Postdoctoral Research Associate in Organic Semiconductor Engineering

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Associate to join our research team in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science at the University of Minnesota. The successful candidate will work on a joint project with the Frisbie and Holmes research groups, focusing on engineering the optical behavior of crystalline and polycrystalline organic semiconductor materials.
The ideal candidate will have experience in organic thin film and crystal growth, structural characterization by X-ray diffraction, ellipsometry of anisotropic materials, and electrical and optical measurements. Experience in simulating and modeling optical phenomena in anisotropic optical media is also desired.
Responsibilities- Conduct research on the optical behavior of organic semiconductor materials
- Develop and implement new methods for characterizing and modeling optical phenomena in anisotropic materials
- Collaborate with the research team to design and execute experiments
- Present research findings at conferences and publish in peer-reviewed journals
- Ph.D. in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field
- Experience working with organic semiconductor thin films and devices
- Strong understanding of optical properties of organic semiconductor thin films and the role of molecular orientation
