Job Description:
As a Fire Extinguisher and Environmental Safety Technician, you will contribute to ensuring the safety and well-being of VAPAHCS employees and visitors by performing crucial tasks such as inspecting fire equipment, participating in fire evacuation drills, and supporting environmental management initiatives.
Requirements:
- Minimum Qualification: High School Diploma or equivalency degree.
- Physical Abilities: Meet physical demands including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Work Environment: Adapt to varied environmental conditions, including cramped spaces, noisy environments, and extreme temperatures or inclement weather.
- Familiarity with Fire Systems: Familiarity with operating fire alarm panels, making proper notifications, and resetting fire alarms and notification devices.
- Driver's License: Possess a valid California Non-Commercial Drivers License or be able to obtain one within 30 days.
- Excellent Communication: Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Drawing Interpretation: Read basic drawings (e.g., fire equipment maps) and apply relevant standards to real-world scenarios.
- Database Expertise: Experience with database maintenance and record keeping.
