**About the Role:**

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Laboratory Services Manager to join our team at Stanford University. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for maintaining laboratory facilities and supervising staff to support the operations of research and teaching facilities.

**Responsibilities:**

  • Oversee the operation and management of laboratory facilities, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and regulations.
  • Schedule and coordinate use of equipment and/or facilities, maximizing efficiency and minimizing downtime.
  • Bid and negotiate contracts with vendors for equipment service and maintenance.
  • Determine equipment needs and oversee installation, ensuring proper functioning and safety standards.
  • Perform and/or coordinate preventative maintenance and repair of all equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
  • Manage logistics of laboratory moves, renovations, and upgrades, collaborating with facilities services staff as needed.
  • Administer and prepare budgets, including multiple funding sources, to ensure effective financial management.
  • Develop and implement health and safety programs, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Supervise and direct work of other staff members, providing guidance, training, and evaluation to ensure high performance and job satisfaction.

**Requirements:**

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in research and/or lab management, preferably in an academic or research setting.
  • Experience with use and maintenance of microscopes and basic molecular biology techniques is desirable.
  • Experience working with rodents and human primary cells is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to coordinate and manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, customer service, and teamwork, with ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

**Estimated Salary Range:** $90,676 - $103,356 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
