Job Responsibilities

$3,000 Sign-On Bonus
Available to qualified external CDL applicants selected to fill these classified vacancies. *Exclusions may apply.

As a maintenance operator, your duties will include:

*Responding to emergency situations and severe weather conditions by operating equipment for snow and ice removal, establishing work zones, and executing traffic control measures.
*Actively participating as a team member in manual labor tasks such as clearing drainage systems, cutting vegetation, and patching potholes.
*Conducting pre-trip inspections and performing preventative maintenance on a variety of equipment.
*Utilizing various hand and power tools effectively.

Minimum Qualifications

To meet the basic qualifications, you should possess:

*The ability to adhere to safety policies, procedures, and programs.
*A willingness to learn and follow guidelines related to roadway and roadside maintenance equipment, materials, and methods.
*Experience in operating machinery such as tractors, loaders, and dump trucks.
*The capability to perform heavy manual labor, including frequently lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 lbs.
*Proficiency in operating and maintaining hand and power tools, including weed eaters, chainsaws, shovels, and rakes.
*The ability to obtain a CDL and DOT medical card within 11 months of employment and maintain it thereafter.
*The capacity to work in various weather conditions and respond to accidents and emergencies during or after regular working hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Additional Considerations

Preferred qualifications include:

*A valid CDL with applicable endorsements.
*Recent experience in performing heavy manual labor.
*Experience in operating various medium and heavy equipment.
*Experience in conducting preventative maintenance and minor repairs on equipment.
*Certification in flagging and work zone setup.

For CDL holders, additional requirements include:
*Full Query drug and alcohol history in FMCSA Clearinghouse.
*Pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
*Federal DOT pre-employment physical.

Safety shoes and other personal protective equipment (PPE) are mandatory for job performance.

This position is essential, requiring all associated duties during emergency situations, including inclement weather and disaster response.

Performance of these duties may necessitate work outside of standard business hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Multiple Maintenance Operator positions may be filled from this recruitment.
