Key Responsibilities
- Execute preventative maintenance tasks effectively.
- Respond to direct requests from the production floor by assessing the situation and determining the necessary maintenance level for resolution.
- Resolve maintenance requests efficiently.
- Operate maintenance room equipment in accordance with established procedures.
- Ensure all equipment is maintained in a production-ready and safe condition.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment as required.
- Engage in cross-functional process improvement initiatives.
- Actively participate in daily production meetings, communicating essential information regarding safety, quality, maintenance, production, and continuous improvement.
- Adhere to work instructions as necessary.
- Conduct root cause analysis to determine immediate actions or the need for additional personnel.
- Maintain a 5S environment in the workspace.
- Oversee the preventative maintenance program for equipment.
- Contribute to equipment optimization and cost control initiatives.
- Assist maintenance personnel to ensure all auxiliary equipment is operational.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred. Must successfully complete the Maintenance Tech Trainee Test.
- Possess a high level of skill and extensive knowledge of mechanical principles, electro-mechanical techniques, pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, robotics, or other technical areas, including PLCs, along with diversified long-term experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
- Proficient in using basic and advanced hand tools for various applications.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and schematics (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic).
- Capable of reading, writing, and following written or verbal instructions.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Computer proficiency is preferred.
- Completion of maintenance Ivy Tech courses (6 total) within 18 months of starting the position is required.
