Eastward Partners Inc. is collaborating with a prominent non-profit organization to find a strategic leader in the realm of human resources.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Director of Human Resources will be responsible for the development, oversight, and assurance of accountability within the HR department, as well as other related activities as directed by the Associate Executive Director of Human Resources.

  1. Supervise a team comprising 3 to 4 professionals, including a Director of HR Information Systems, a Director of Training and Compliance, and a Director of Investigations.
  2. Facilitate employee relations initiatives, including diversity, equity, and inclusion training, investigations into employee conduct, and management of disciplinary actions.
  3. Ensure adherence to the regulations set forth by the State of New Jersey and Medicaid concerning the support of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  4. Oversee the enhancement of training and onboarding policies, including a comprehensive review of existing orientation materials to guarantee an effective onboarding experience for new hires.
  5. Create and maintain job descriptions for newly established positions while ensuring timely postings for open roles.
  6. Communicate benefits and total rewards information to both new and existing employees, detailing medical, dental, vision, and retirement benefits to ensure comprehensive understanding of available options.
  7. Guarantee compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled, independent, and results-driven professional with extensive experience in not-for-profit management, coupled with exceptional people management, creative problem-solving, and communication skills. This individual must adeptly navigate complex organizational functions, projects, and challenges in a dynamic environment while upholding the highest ethical and professional standards. A commitment to engaging with staff in a collaborative manner, rather than solely delegating tasks, is essential.

Required Experience and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Eight to ten years of experience in human resources within the not-for-profit sector, including three to five years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Experience with a not-for-profit organization of comparable size, employing at least 100 individuals.
  • Thorough knowledge of relevant federal, state, and local laws, policies, and regulations pertaining to human resources.
