Key Responsibilities

The Senior Director of Human Resources will be responsible for the strategic direction, oversight, and accountability of the HR department, along with other functions as designated by the Associate Executive Director of Human Resources.

  1. Supervise a team comprising 3 to 4 professionals, including a Director of HR Information Systems, a Director of Training and Compliance, and a Director of Investigations.

  3. Ensure adherence to New Jersey state laws and Medicaid regulations concerning the support of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

  5. Create and maintain job descriptions for newly established positions and ensure the timely posting of descriptions for vacancies.
  6. Communicate benefits and total rewards information to both new and existing employees, detailing medical, dental, vision, and retirement benefits to ensure comprehensive understanding of available options.
  7. Guarantee compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled, independent, and results-driven professional with extensive experience in not-for-profit management and exceptional abilities in people management, problem-solving, and communication. This individual must adeptly navigate complex organizational functions and challenges in a dynamic environment while upholding the highest ethical and professional standards. Required Experience and Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year institution.
  • A minimum of eight to ten years of experience in human resources within the not-for-profit sector, including three to five years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Experience with a non-profit organization of comparable size, with a workforce of at least 100 employees.
  • Thorough knowledge of relevant federal, state, and local employment laws, policies, and regulations.
