Position Title: Building Engineer

Role Overview:

The Building Engineer is accountable for the effective operation, repair, and maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems within the facility. This role requires handling heavy equipment and working in various environmental conditions. The engineer will respond to service requests and manage emergency situations or system failures, while also supervising utility mechanics and overseeing routine maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the operation, repair, and maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems, including air handling units, pumps, and control systems.
  • Conduct installations of electrical circuits and repair plumbing fixtures.
  • Perform maintenance tasks such as cleaning coils in air handling units and inspecting emergency generators.
  • Oversee routine inspections and preventive maintenance, including filter changes and lubrication.
  • Document inspections and report findings to management.
  • Assist with minor carpentry and electrical tasks as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and best practices in maintenance operations.

Qualifications:

  • Certification in relevant mechanical trades or trade school education in HVAC, Electrical, or Plumbing.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in managing central plant equipment and building systems.
  • Proven skills in repairing and maintaining electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
  • Ability to perform safe operations on hydronic and electrical systems.
  • Basic carpentry skills and familiarity with building auxiliary systems.
  • Valid driver's license as required for vehicle operation.
  • Strong understanding of safe work practices and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks.

Work Schedule: Day Shift, Monday to Friday
