Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Production Development Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for developing laser welded blank solutions for automotive applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Co-engineering initiatives to promote and develop LWB applications
  • RFQ support, including coordination with sales, SROC, competitive solutions costing, nesting, and engineering drawings
  • Forming feasibility, including coordination with R&D
  • Engineering drawings, including coordination with advanced manufacturing, program management, and plant engineering
  • Market intelligence, including A2MAC1, conferences, benchmarking, internal R&D, and IHS
  • PD strategy, including coordination with the PD team and company goals
  • Customer plant visits, as required
  • R&D liaison, as required
  • Technical specifications, including developing specifications in coordination with R&D
  • Product validation, including engineering tests, samples, and analytical data
  • Manufacturing support, including plant support and APQP
  • OEM liaison, including pulse of OEM, market intelligence, and OEM future product strategy
Requirements
  • CAE skills, including meshing, crash analysis, stiffness/NVH, morphing, and forming
  • CAD skills, including wireframe, 2D, and 3D skills
  • Office tools, including Office, PowerPoint, Excel, OneNote, and Access
  • LWB manufacturing knowledge
  • Steel knowledge
  • Communication skills, including written and oral
  • Ability to travel, as required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills
  • Full vehicle crash analysis and model setup skills on LS Dyna
  • Pre and post-processing skills on Ansa or Hyperworks or LS PrePost
  • Basic CAD experience on AutoCAD or similar software
  • Prior experience with analysis of laser welded blank applications
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Self-motivated and hard worker
  • US citizen, permanent resident, or legally authorized to work in the US
