Vehicle Maintenance Specialist

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct test drives and evaluate vehicle systems using diagnostic tools such as infrared engine analyzers and computerized devices.
- Assess vehicles to identify the extent of damage or operational issues.
- Service, replace, and adjust braking systems.
- Utilize checklists to ensure thorough inspection of critical components, including belts, hoses, steering mechanisms, spark plugs, and fuel systems.
- Engage with clients to gather information on vehicle issues and discuss necessary repairs and future maintenance.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, lubrication, and engine tune-ups.
- Service and repair air conditioning, heating, and electrical systems.
- Test and calibrate repaired systems to align with manufacturer specifications.
- Review work orders and collaborate with supervisors regarding tasks.
- Dismantle, repair, and reconstruct malfunctioning assemblies, such as power and steering systems.
- Plan repair procedures using technical manuals and personal expertise.
- Disassemble components and evaluate parts for wear using precision measuring tools.
- Replace or repair critical parts, including pistons, rods, and valves.
- Rewire electrical systems, including ignition and lighting.
- Service both manual and automatic transmission systems.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Language Skills: Proficient in reading and interpreting safety regulations, maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals. Capable of writing standard reports and communicating effectively with groups.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform calculations involving discounts, interest, and percentages, as well as basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Skills: Ability to apply logical reasoning to follow instructions in various formats and to solve problems involving concrete variables.
Computer Proficiency: Familiarity with internet software is necessary for job performance.
Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED; one to two years of relevant experience or training; or a combination of education and experience.
Certifications:
- Preferred: Air conditioning certification.
- Valid driver's license required.
- ASE certification.
- ASC certification.
- Air conditioning units.
- Forklifts.
- Vehicle diagnostic scanners.
- Hand tools.
- Drilling equipment.
- Welding apparatus.
- Attention to detail.
- Effective time management.
- Strong communication abilities.
- Familiarity with automotive parts and terminology.
While performing job duties, employees are frequently required to stand, walk, use hands, and communicate. Occasionally, they may need to sit, climb, or kneel. Employees must be able to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds regularly. Vision requirements include close and distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and color vision.
