Overview

Supervisory Responsibilities

You will provide technical direction and support to a team of engineers assigned to complex process plant projects, acting as both administrative and technical authority for the Process team.

Education

A minimum of a four-year degree in Chemical Engineering is typically required.

Qualifications and Experience

We seek candidates with at least 12 years of experience in Process/Design Engineering or a related field (or equivalent knowledge/experience). Registration as a licensed professional engineer is highly preferred (or willingness to obtain registration).

Familiarity with various software applications and automated engineering design tools is essential for effectively managing diverse engineering tasks.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

You will hold technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating Process engineering on projects that involve unique challenges and require frequent collaboration with various engineering disciplines.

  • Plan, organize, and direct process assignments.
  • Analyze and document project scope and technical aspects in accordance with client and company specifications.
  • Support and oversee activities related to overall plant design, including PFDs, equipment specifications, P&IDs, and instrument specifications.
  • Develop man-hour estimates, schedules, and determine Process staffing needs for projects.
  • Participate in Process safety reviews.
  • Evaluate project progress and personnel performance.
  • Identify issues for investigation and recommend solutions or significant design modifications.
Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical literature, financial reports, and legal documents. Proficient in corresponding with clients, regulatory bodies, or members of the business community. Capable of writing articles and presentations that adhere to established style and format. Ability to effectively present information to senior management, public groups, and boards of directors.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, as well as the fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Physical Demands

Occasionally, you may conduct or participate in field visits to operational plants or construction sites, requiring normal hearing, the ability to stand, walk, reach, climb, and balance, as well as clear vision and depth perception.

Lifting up to 25 pounds may be necessary.

Work Environment

The typical work environment will be a business office with moderate noise levels. Occasionally, you may be assigned to work in an operational plant or construction site, which may involve exposure to outdoor weather conditions, loud noise, moving mechanical parts, electrical energy, construction equipment, vibrations, fumes, chemicals, and airborne particles.
