Job Overview

Zachry Engineering Corporation (ZEC) is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to join our dynamic team. The Senior Process Engineer will be responsible for executing routine engineering and design functions within the process sector of assigned projects, adhering to specific guidelines and expected outcomes. This role requires independent evaluation, selection, and application of standard engineering methods, utilizing sound judgment for minor adjustments and modifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and inspect machinery, computer systems, valves, gauges, alarms, safety mechanisms, and meters to identify leaks or operational issues, ensuring efficient and safe equipment performance.
  • Diagnose problems and implement corrective actions to maintain continuous and reliable operation of systems and equipment.
  • Interpret readings from gauges, meters, and charts to confirm proper boiler functionality.
  • Operate or manage stationary engines, boilers, and auxiliary machinery such as pumps and compressors to provide necessary steam or heating for various applications.
  • Adjust controls and valves to optimize power delivery and regulate industrial processes.
  • Transition from automated to manual controls and isolate equipment for safe inspection and maintenance.
  • Maintain comprehensive logs of operations, maintenance, and safety activities, including test results and equipment performance records.
  • Identify and troubleshoot manufacturing process issues through testing and performance monitoring.
  • Assess equipment and processes for compliance with safety and environmental standards.
  • Estimate production costs for management review.
  • Communicate technical information effectively to peers and other stakeholders to implement operational procedures and resolve system issues.
  • Provide specialized technical expertise, including training for colleagues and clients.
Position Highlights
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering is required.
  • Application of standard engineering techniques to ensure adherence to safety and environmental regulations.
  • Experience in the Industrial Construction/Services sector is essential.

Preferred Qualifications

Physical Requirements
  • Effective communication in various formats including in-person, telephone, email, and video conferencing.
  • Position involves site visits requiring mobility and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Work Environment
  • Work settings include office, warehouse, and construction sites.
  • Construction sites may present moderate to high noise levels and various operational activities.
