Job Title: Dietitian I / Nutritionist

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Dietitian I or Nutritionist to join our team at ACCESS (MI). As a key member of our nutrition team, you will provide nutritional counseling to low-income women, infants, and children up to age 5 who are at nutritional risk. You will work under limited supervision to develop and implement nutrition care plans, provide education and support to clients, and collaborate with healthcare and community providers to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments and develop personalized nutrition care plans for clients.
  • Provide education and support to clients on healthy eating habits, nutrition, and wellness.
  • Collaborate with healthcare and community providers to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Develop and implement nutrition education programs for individuals and groups.
  • Review and interpret policies and procedures related to nutrition programs.
  • Document client health, social, and nutritional risk factors and services provided.
  • Develop and update educational materials for clients, incorporating cultural diversity and sensitivity.
  • Plan and conduct food service and nutritional programs to promote health and prevent disease.
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance and confidentiality.
  • Participate in emergency preparedness exercises and training.
  • Attend patient reviews, staff meetings, and training sessions.
  • Stay current on new developments in the nutrition field, adhering to American Dietetic Association standards.
  • Follow funding source requirements and CARF standards for services provided.
  • Issue WIC benefits and explain approved foods and vendors, as needed.
  • Participate in time studies, nutrition education pilot programs, and breastfeeding initiatives, as required.
  • Contribute to grant proposal writing and submission, as needed.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in nutrition, dietetics, or a related health field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Registered Dietitian (RD) or RD-eligible with examination pending, or meets registration requirements administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
  • Completed dietetic internship approved by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, as required.
Working Conditions:

Normal business hours, with occasional additional hours required. Local and in-state travel, up to 25%.

Climate-controlled office environment.
